Who we are
School Planner is provided by Swazer Ltd. If you have any question about this policy or your information, email info@swazerlab.com.
What this covers
The School Planner apps for iPhone, iPad and Android, the web app at app.schoolplanner.me, and this website. Where something applies to only one of them, it says so.
Your account
You need an account to use School Planner, because your planner is stored against it rather than on the device you happen to be holding. You can create one with an email address and a password, or by using Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In. If you use Apple or Google we receive the account identifier and email address they release to us; we do not receive your password in any case.
What you put into the app
We store what you enter so it can be shown back to you on your other devices. That is your semesters and terms, subjects, classes and timetable, assignments, exams, tasks, grades, attendance records, and the teacher details you choose to add — which may include a teacher's name, email address, phone number, office location and office hours.
Please only add someone else's contact details if you would be comfortable telling them you had. This content is yours; we do not sell it, and we do not use it to target advertising.
Information collected automatically
We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the apps and the web app are used — which screens are opened, whether sign-up and purchase flows complete, and similar. The events we record include page views, sign-in, sign-up, purchases, and feedback being sent. This is used in aggregate to decide what to build and fix.
On iPhone and Android we also use Firebase Crashlytics, which reports crashes along with device and diagnostic information so we can fix them.
Advertising
The iPhone and Android apps show advertising from Google AdMob unless you buy the premium upgrade, which removes it. Where the law requires it, the apps ask for your advertising choices through Google's consent flow before any personalised advertising is served.
The web app shows no advertising at all, and neither does this website.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, we store a push token for each device alongside the platform it runs on and when it was last seen, so reminders reach the right device. Turning notifications off in your device settings stops them.
Purchases
Premium is sold through the App Store and Google Play, and they handle the payment. We never see or store your card details. We keep the order and product identifiers, whether the purchase is active, and the relevant dates, so the app knows what you are entitled to. We check these against Apple's and Google's systems to confirm they are still valid.
Who else handles your information
Google, whose Firebase platform provides our sign-in, database, hosting, notifications, analytics, crash reporting and advertising; and Apple, for verifying App Store purchases. We do not sell your information, and we do not share your planner content with anyone else.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your planner for as long as your account exists. To delete it, email info@swazerlab.com from the address on your account and say that you want the account deleted; it and its data are removed within 72 hours. Deletion is permanent and the data cannot be recovered afterwards. We may keep aggregated or anonymised statistics that are not linked to you.
Children
School Planner is used by students, including younger ones. If you believe a child has given us personal information that they should not have, email info@swazerlab.com and we will remove it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, or object to some uses of it. Most of your planner can be viewed and edited directly in the app. For anything else, email info@swazerlab.com.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and change the date at the top.
